VIA Pro266T Chipset |
|
The VIA Apollo Pro 266T is an efficient, cost-effective,
flexible chipset solution for Socket 370 systems based
on the Intel® Pentium® III, Intel® Celeron™ & VIA
C3™ Processors, across a full spectrum of applications.
Through its V-Link memory controller architecture, the
VIA Apollo Pro266T chipset supports up to 4.0GB of DDR200/266
SDRAM at a peak bandwidth of 2.1GB per second. These
memory technologies provide the bandwidth and performance
necessary for even demanding Internet and 3D graphics
applications at a minimal cost premium over PC133 SDRAM.
DDR266 SDRAM lowers memory power consumption as well,
providing the ideal solution for small form factor desktops
and notebooks. The VIA Pro266T has a flexible 133/100/66
MHz front side bus, and its asynchronous bus design
are also ideal for Pentium® III, Celeron™ & VIA
C3™ processors. An AGP 4X/2X controller enables connection
with external graphics cards, and a V-link chip interconnect
offers 266MB/s of bandwidth between the North and South
Bridges.
In combination with the VIA VT8233 South Bridge Controller
(see the block diagram below), the VIA Pro266T supports
3Com 10/100 Ethernet Media Access Controller, HomePNA,
AC'97 audio, and MC'97 modem. Additional key features
include support for 6 USB ports, ATA 100 and Advanced
Power Management.
