The VIA Apollo Pro133 is an efficient, cost-effective, flexible
chipset solution for Socket 370 systems based on the Intel® Pentium®
III, Intel® Celeron™ & VIA C3™ Processors, across a full spectrum
of applications. The Pro133 offers a 133MHz Front Side Bus, and includes
a highly scaleable asynchronous bus design. Through its memory controller
architecture, the VIA Apollo Pro133 chipset supports up to 1.5GB of
PC133 SDRAM and VC133 DRAM. These memory technologies provide bandwidth
for Internet and 3D graphics applications at a minimal cost premium
over PC100 SDRAM. The AGP2X interface on the VIA Apollo Pro133 chipset
enables vivid 3D graphics and video performance, while the ATA 66
interface delivers maximum sustained data transfer rates of 66MB/sec.
In combination with the VT82C596B or VT82C686A South Bridge Controllers
(see the block diagram below), the VIA Pro133 supports four USB ports,
AC-97 link for audio and modem, hardware monitoring, and power management.
