VIA PN266T Chipset |
|
The VIA PN266T is an efficient, cost-effective, flexible chipset
solution for mobile systems based on the Intel® Pentium® III Processor-M
and VIA C3™ mobile processors, across a full spectrum of applications.
With up to 2.1 GB/s of memory bandwidth for up to 4GB of DDR266 SDRAM,
a 64-bit DDR 200/266 or PC100/133 SDRAM memory controller, and a 133
MHZ front side bus, the PN266T offers efficient system performance.
The VIA PN266T also integrates the S3 Graphics ProSavage8™ 2D/3D engine,
with internal AGP 8X bandwidth and DVD Motion Compensation optimized
for use with the Microsoft Windows® XP operating system. Shared Memory
Architecture (SMA) enables the PN266T to utilize the system memory
for frame buffer and texture memory on a 128-bit internal data path
doubled. In addition, employing low voltage DDR266 SDRAM with Intel®
Speedstep™ Technology lowers system power consumption extends battery
life and usability.
The VIA PN266T also makes use of VIA's V-Link Hub Architecture,
which provides a dedicated 266MB/s bus between the north and south
bridges. Paired with any of the VIA V-MAP 8233 Series South Bridges,
the VIA PN266T includes integrated 2 Channel AC'97 Audio, integrated
MC'97 Modem, and support for ATA 33/66/100 and 4 or more USB ports.
Options also include an integrated 3Com® networking MAC.
