VIA Geared for Gaming in 2004

ECTS
London, England - September 1-3, 2004

VIA hit London in style as part of its 2004 Geared for Gaming global campaign, attending the European Computer Trade Show (ECTS), which ran from September 1st to 3rd 2004 at the famous Earls Court Exhibition Center. Running parallel to ECTS was the European Game Developers Conference, ensuring ECTS became a meeting point of all the key players in the European gaming scene. Following ECTS, VIA moved onto the ABIT Hardware Festival in Leicester Square, central London. Stay posted for more details on that event.

The VIA booth at ECTS 2004 featured a crowd drawing array of bespoke gaming PCs, all powered by the leading chipset for the AMD Athlon 64 processor platform, the VIA K8T800 Pro. The world's top professional gamer, Jonathon "Fatal1ty" Wendell, could be found at the VIA booth, as part of his Fatal1ty World Tour with VIA motherboard partner ABIT. A number of other innovative multimedia devices powered by VIA and S3 Graphics solutions also drew in crowds throughout the show.

The VIA booth also displayed a host of other exciting VIA powered solutions. S3 Graphics and Club 3D also announced their OmniChrome Hi-Def Multimedia Video Graphics solution at ECTS.

ECTS 2004 also played host to final UK qualifying event for this years World Cyber Games. Those who played well enough to win their divisions booked their seats on the place to San Francisco for the 2004 WCG this October.

The World's leading professional gamer, Jonathon "Fatal1ty" Wendell, could be found at the VIA booth, taking on anyone brave enough to challenge him to a Doom 3 one on one deathmatch. Fatal1ty always plays on an ABIT motherboard with a K8T800 Pro chipset, and needless to say the 1,000 pound prize money offered to successful challengers went unclaimed, once again.
